Drywall Installation

With demonstrated experience in a wide range of drywall installation services, we have all the relevant insights to provide advice and optimize the configuration too!

Hanging sheetrock comes with a lot of nuanced information that may not necessarily be common knowledge. For example, we know that a ceiling setup requires thinner sheets for a more streamlined process.

Installing drywall is not as straightforward as it may look, and the absence of professional care means you could have quite the hefty bill ahead of you down the line.

What sounds like the more optimal way to go about your drywall installation near Lakewood? Is it getting the job done right at the onset or choosing not to do that and paying for a proper sheetrock installation later?

We also like the idea that years after we install drywall, if the time comes for removal, the whole thing can be recycled!

Yes! Your old board can be used to make new drywall, cement, or even soil conditioner!

There is nothing for you to worry about upon hiring us. You are a unique person with important needs, and way more than just that customer we do business with.

Therefore, before the plasterboard is installed, we will have a conversation with you to understand what it is you desire, and we’ll keep you informed throughout the entire process so you're comfortable all the way through!

Drywall Repair

One of the reasons why we specialize in plasterboard is the fact that it's a tough material. Of course, tough does not necessarily translate to indestructible.

Sometimes, the impact from a natural disaster may necessitate a drywall hole repair. In another instance, wear and tear over time may create cracks that may see a drywall patch repair being more appropriate.

Thankfully, we do more than just set up the sheetrock. Our contractors are very adept at repairing drywall along with installation. A part of this is knowing which type of compound works best.

Additionally, we steer clear of the kind of pre-made kits that would make repairing sheetrock a chore are those that would leave an improperly finished job behind.

Remember that there are likely hidden electrical cords around too. Our purpose is to complete a drywall repair and not wreck anything else. Without adequate care and experience, it's very easy to damage underlying cabling and piping.

This is most certainly a professional task if you have ever seen one. If you notice that something looks off with your plasterboard, just remember that your best course of action is to reach out. Sheetrock repair is in our repertoire, and we happen to be very good at it.

By the time we’re done, it will look a lot like it did before anything was ever wrong.

Plaster Repair

Plaster is an excellent construction material- but is still susceptible to damage. Whether you have had a water leak, the surface has cracked over time, or you accidentally put a hole in it (don’t worry- you are not alone!)- our interior plaster repair services are here to help.

Here are some techniques our plasterers use to help homeowners maintain their properties.

  • Filler: We repair plastering with small holes and cracks using plaster filler. It is a messy material that requires care and precision to get right- but our contractors do it flawlessly.

  • Patches: Patching plaster is a tried and tested technique that has been around as long as plaster has! It is used to fill holes in hollow walls where filler won't work. We square off the damaged area, cut a new piece exactly to fit, and secure it using an adhesive compound. It works on walls- and we can also repair plaster ceiling holes this way.

  • Water damage repair: Contrary to popular belief, fixing plasterboard walls is possible after water damage- depending on the scope of the problem. If possible, we remove the damaged layer, seal it, and cover it. If the damage goes through all layers, we may be able to remove a section- rather than the whole thing.

Professional plaster contractors are trained in the most effective ways to fix plaster walls without it looking noticeable- something that is very difficult to achieve without the right experience and tools. When working with damaged wall plaster and lath, we take every precaution to find the root of the problem, decide on the more effective method of repair, remove everything that is damaged, and leave your walls looking great.

Popcorn Ceiling Removal

Just in case you're not familiar with the concept of a popcorn ceiling. It's another name for an acoustical ceiling. They typically have thick textures, which translate to the absorption of sound waves. Additionally, the ceilings look a lot like large cottage cheese curds.

Why would you not opt for a popcorn ceiling repair? Is there ever a good reason to have the whole thing removed?

Yes. First, if yours was set up before 1978, there is probably a hazard there that you are unaware of. Popcorn ceiling asbestos concerns are well documented since the fibers were used back then to provide fire resistance and as a binding agent.

Since then, however, asbestos would have been banned, which means Styrofoam is present in newer designs.

Additionally, popcorn ceiling removal services help with resale value. Unfortunately, their visual design is often seen as dated, and some buyers won't even make an offer if they see them in your home.

You may also find that the popcorn ceiling texture is nothing short of a dust magnet. The worst part is should you try to clean it, not only may your method be ineffective, but some pieces of the ceiling may also be dislodged.

Finally, there may be some discoloration in the peaks and valleys. You then get an inconsistent look which is very visually disturbing. Of course, any attempt to cover a popcorn ceiling could be very difficult, therefore, removing it altogether may be a good idea.

Ceiling Repair

Over time or because of a single incident, the integrity of your ceiling may be disturbed. Unless the damage is so extensive that the whole thing needs to be replaced immediately, the more likely scenario is that you need a ceiling repair.

Alternatively, you may want to prepare for painting and need a texture match done for uniformity. This need is common and one that we can provide as well.

Note that our team works on different kinds of textures. For example, repairing a stipple ceiling is something that we are most certainly capable of.

Some of the tasks that we may perform are:

  • Plaster application
  • Plaster restoration
  • Resurfacing
  • Hole filling
  • Ceiling crack repair
  • Optional painting
  • Stucco ceiling repair
  • Stipple ceiling repair

The extent of the work can vary, but our wide range of ceiling repair services can accommodate it. If what you have is a simple crack, then we can take care of it for you. Alternatively, if whatever you need to be done spawns a larger portion of the ceiling, don't worry about that either.

As sturdy as houses are meant to be, their components lose integrity for various reasons, what's most important is ensuring that your ceiling is safe and returned to its former glory, and we are here to ensure that it does so.

Ceiling Installation

Whether you have an acoustic panel or some other kind of ceiling treatment, a drywall ceiling installation can offer a solid replacement choice. Thanks to the flat surface that plasterboard is known for, you can get a streamlined look that offers some level of customization. Doesn't that sound great?

Whether it's framing a drop ceiling or a ceiling grid installation, we have the capability to carry it out effectively. If nothing else, this process requires a laundry list of tools alongside the right expertise.

Thankfully, we have both in spades. Remember this is going to be a structure that's hanging over your head, and you'd prefer that it stays exactly where it is. So, to get your drop ceiling installation near Lakewood, Colorado, done right, you know exactly where to go.

Though we mentioned the removal and replacement of the panels, note that we handle acoustic ceiling installation too.

Removing old nails and ceiling tiles, mounted fixtures, and attaching drywall is no challenge for our team at all. As always, we can make the necessary recommendations to ensure that everything we do is optimized from both a requirement and structural perspective. Who else would you want to install a drop ceiling for you?

Ceiling Texture

If you ask some people, applying a texture to a ceiling is not one of the most fashionable ideas. However, should you speak to others, there is no better aesthetic out there. This just goes to show the extent to which subjectivity is a big part of these kinds of housing projects.

Our philosophy is to bring your vision to life. That may be a modern ceiling texture. If that's the case, then you can bring your idea to us, and we can also provide some suggestions based on the jobs we've done in the past and our general knowledge of what's available out there.

For example, we are acutely aware of a series of different ceiling texture types that you may find compliment your space incredibly well. Again, we say, you can always just talk to us, and we'll feel out where you are, provide some advice, and come to our consensus thereafter.

There are multiple ways to do ceiling textures, and of course, we have the capabilities to install just about all of them.

Additionally, painting over a smooth ceiling texture is much different from doing one that has a bit more patterns going for it. Still, it's nothing we can't handle.

Again, we'd like to reiterate that this is not the same as applying a textured paint. If you want to texture a ceiling, get a professional to use the right compounds and procedure.

Wall Texture

Seeing a textured wall is popular these days. That was not necessarily always the case. Most people who opt for a wall texture design do so because of the visual flair that it brings to the property.

If that's the reason you want such a job to be carried out, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. After all, we're here to serve you, and that's a perfectly logical use case.

Sometimes, wall textures are great for a functional purpose too. One of these may be concealing flaws. Unfortunately, when the construction is initially done, sometimes it doesn't work out as well as you would hope.

Therefore, you may end up with blemishes. Tearing the sheetrock down and installing a new wall may not be the right solution for something so simple. So, a better option may be to go with one of the many wall texture types available.

Beyond that, having this carried out can lead to some solid soundproofing insulation. Bear in mind though that we wouldn't recommend depending on just this if you want a true soundproof solution.

Nevertheless, it at least helps soften the audio waves by impeding their travel path slightly.

Many homeowners use textured paint because they think it's the same thing and yields the same results. The paint only has a visual impact, and it's not even as pronounced as the true process.

Mudding Drywall

Mudding drywall sounds messy, and that goes beyond the name. Essentially, the process involves thin coats of drywall joint compound applied in multiples to screwing indentations and joints that may be in new pieces of sheetrock.

We may make it look easy, but you would be surprised how much goes into mudding drywall. A part of it is having the right tools for the job such as the drywall paste that we use in the process.

Additionally, we’re acutely aware of which premixed compound should be used for what. At the end, you end up with a flat wall where no one can tell that there are even seams beneath.

Different sheetrock mud is often required at different times. There's all-purpose mud that’s a Jack of many trades as the name implies.

It's smooth and only takes a couple of hours to harden. The light all-purpose variation dries in a lighter hue, which makes it great for walls meant for pale paint and subsequent coats.

Finally, the top coating of our drywall mudding process will use topping mud. It's easy to sand, dries in a bright white, and is an excellent choice for walls intended to be painted in very light colors.

We can mud drywall corners and surfaces effectively, giving a pristine look, which is exactly what you need to set a solid canvas for your home's beauty.

Taping Drywall

Drywall taping is next on the agenda, and the science behind this service is often underestimated. You may have seen contractors laying spackle tape along drywall seams in the past, for example.

However, what goes into it is quite a bit more than that, and you most certainly want a contractor who knows the nuances well. Take tapered drywall joints, for example. They're built with special edges meant for the compound and the tape.

A professional would know two things about them. The first is that they’re deceptively easy to fill and the second, which is arguably more important, is that for best results, it must be flush with this surrounding surface and filled on the first coat.

Furthermore, when taping drywall, a special knife will typically be used. However, should the person carrying out the job press too hard, the compound will be depressed from the blade’s flexing, and more filling will be needed on the next coat.

Remember that what's most important to the drywall taping process is having a flat and consistent look while trying to get the required filling done quickly. Only when the tape is properly embedded in the setting compound will you get that kind of visual.

Taping a drywall ceiling and handling the corners also requires precision. Thankfully, we have you covered there too!!

Floating Drywall

When a thin layer of mud is applied to thinner plasterboard edges, covered with tape, then covered with another thin layer of mud, the process is known as drywall floating. The purpose of this, as we have echoed about a couple of the other services above, is to create a consistent look.

It may not sound like much, but the absence of a floated finish in a wall, when compared to a wall in which it's done well, is like night and day.

The process can get a bit intricate, which is why you would bring us in to float drywall. For example, we know that we shouldn't overlook attaching corner bead to the plasterboard all its outer corners to provide a bit of extra protection.

A special knife is typically used when floating a wall, as it allows us to ensure that there's a feathered look from outer edges to surrounding sheetrock.

The uniformed look is one thing, and it means getting rid of air bubbles. If you’ve ever seen what a screen protector on a cell phone looks like with stubborn bubbles, the same kind of visual makes the final product an eye sore, which is never something that you want to happen when floating drywall.

Bear in mind that our team will explain what is happening along every step of the way, so you don't feel as if you're at a loss for what is going on with your home.

We've been floating sheetrock for a very long time, so you are guaranteed a great outcome.

Drywall Finishing

Finishing drywall is the last thing that's going to be done before the painting begins. What does it look like? Well, we'll do a final check for any crevices or bumps that may be present.

The finished drywall will see compound being used to properly cover them up making things look as flat as possible.

You may think that you can simply cover the imperfections with a few coats of paint or wallpaper, but that's often not the case. Without finishing sheetrock correctly, you can end up with a painted wall that clearly shows something is awry underneath.

Remember that while the mud can be pale, the color of paint can highlight when there are issues present

Even if you plan to tile the wall, you should only do so when there is properly finished drywall present. If you've ever seen a tiled setup, you know that it looks very standardized from top to bottom.

An improper drywall finishing job can create an uneven look that may be minute or very pronounced. Beyond the visual considerations, there will be some questions around your structural integrity.

Does that sound like something you want to be worried about? Certainly not! Therefore, whether it's finishing drywall corners, the ceiling, or whichever other element is necessary, the best course of action is to have finalizing drywall done and done right!

Drywall Removal

When you think about tearing down pieces of drywall, you may not necessarily see much more than that going into the process. After all, that's how a lot of renovation jobs work, right?

You just demolish whatever was there before and start building again. How hard could drywall removal be? Our answer to that would be, more difficult than you think. Wall demolition would be very straightforward if the only thing you needed to worry about was the structure being torn away.

However, one of the most important considerations in sheetrock removal is avoiding the destruction of anything that lays beneath. Remember that there are electrical outlets, plumbing, HVAC vents, and more.

As a precaution, though, we would recommend having the utilities turned off. Additionally, there is a room preparation process that precedes drywall extraction. After all, we don't want to spread dust into your venting, which can be particularly troublesome when your HVAC is on again.

Getting rid of molding is also important when we remove a drywall ceiling or other similar structure. Doing this allows us to access the entirety of the plasterboard.

After all, if the idea of the service is to tear all of something away, then what would we be providing to you if we left some of it behind?

Even finding and removing framing nails is quite the challenge for those without the qualifications and experience to handle the job.

Wall Framing

Your home has a footprint. If you wanted to configure or change that, then drywall framing would be the process that allows you to do so. It's only after we have completed this that siding, windows, doors, and plasterboard would be added to the equation.

Therefore, this is where the kind of positioning you want and communicate to us is important. Of course, we will make recommendations too, as we want to deliver the value of our expertise while ensuring your desires are met.

Before starting the process, we must verify that the intended stud wall placement is optimal. Without precise positioning both vertically and horizontally, the design is going to be weak, which as you can imagine, may present some problems for you in the future.

Framing interior walls requires a few elements. For example, the entire thing rests on a bottom sole plate. We already mentioned the studs, which must be placed firmly and spaced effectively according to both the project requirements and the local building code.

There is also the matter of the top plates in the interior wall framing setup that are essential for connecting the ceiling to the top of the studs.

Typically, when a house is being built initially or there's home improvement going on, framing walls becomes a necessary part of the process. Tasks as large as garage conversion and those as small as room division require it.

If you're going to build a wall, you will likely need framing.

Garage Drywall

Apart from the walls and ceiling around the rest of your home, you can use sheetrock elsewhere. For example, garage drywall installation is more common than you may think.

It's often surprising to people, as they're used to certain materials being used for a garage wall. Nevertheless, you can get a series of advantages from installing drywall in a garage.

For example, the crystallized moisture and mineral gypsum in plasterboard offers some level of fire protection. There is also the matter of noise reduction, as you get insulation from the implementation, especially if it's a textured one.

Drywall for a garage ceiling, as is the case with the rest of the room, tends to maximize your lighting and visibility thanks to the standard bright white surfaces that they are known for.

Our job in the equation is very simple. We come in, start the installation, ensure that finishing the garage drywall is done well, and then painting can be done thereafter.

As a bonus, you can even drive your resale value upward by going for this kind of setup.
